Oct 28, · I am looking to relocate to the UK in the next couple years but I would appreciate people's opinions on where they believe is the best place overall to live. I know there are some nice places in the south but I'm looking specifically at Northern England because my wife is from there and she would like to be close to her family (Northern Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside or thereabouts. That being said, my friends and I are trying to explore Northern England in 5 days:) We are going to take a train from London to York, then rent a car and drive through the Moors to the coast, across to the Lake District, stop in Liverpool for 1/2 day (Beatles tour of course), then a train back to London.
